The Instant Indicator for .270 Winchester is a specialized tool used to eliminate the variables that often lead to inconsistent ammunition. By mounting directly into a standard 7/8″-14 reloading press, it allows the user to perform “live” measurements of brass as it is being processed.

Its primary function is to measure “shoulder bump”—ensuring the sizing die is set to push the shoulder back exactly the right amount (typically $0.002″$) for a perfect fit in your specific rifle’s chamber. This process significantly extends brass life and improves accuracy. Additionally, because it measures bullet seating depth from the bullet ogive (the curve of the bullet) rather than the tip, it provides a much more consistent measurement of the cartridge’s relationship to the rifle’s rifling.
