The Redding 56106 is a Category I Competition Bushing Neck Die that utilizes interchangeable bushings (sold separately) to size the case neck to an exact diameter. It features a micrometer-adjustable head for ultra-precise control of the sizing length and a sliding alignment sleeve that centers the case before sizing begins. This die is engineered to maximize accuracy and significantly extend brass life for the .22-250 Remington.

Description
The .22-250 Remington is legendary for its speed and accuracy, but high-velocity cartridges are sensitive to even minor inconsistencies in bullet tension. This die provides a mechanical advantage by replacing the “one-size-fits-all” internal diameter of standard dies with a customizable system:
Bushing System: By using Type S Bushings, you can adjust neck tension in $0.001″$ increments. This allows you to account for variations in brass wall thickness between brands (e.g., Hornady vs. Lapua) and eliminates the need for an expander ball, which often pulls necks out of alignment.
Micrometer Adjustment: The graduated micrometer head allows you to dial in exactly how much of the neck you wish to size. Many precision shooters size only the top $2/3$ of the neck, leaving the bottom portion fire-formed to the chamber to act as a pilot for better alignment.
Sliding Alignment Sleeve: This die uses a spring-loaded internal sleeve that captures the case and centers it perfectly under the bushing before the sizing stroke. This prevents the “crooked necks” that cause bullet runout and open up groups at long range.
Preservation of Fire-Formed Brass: Because this die does not touch the body or shoulder of the case, the brass maintains its perfect fit to your specific rifle’s chamber, ensuring more consistent pressure and velocity.
Key Features:
Micrometer Repeatability: Graduated in $0.001″$ increments for precise, documented setups for different brass batches or rifles.
Category I Build: CNC-machined from high-carbon tool steel and heat-treated for a lifetime of precision.
Self-Centering Bushing: The bushing is designed to float slightly within the die, allowing it to center itself perfectly on the case neck.
Standard Compatibility: 7/8″-14 threads for use in all major single-stage and turret presses.
