The CR42-22 is built for the “accuracy-minded” shooter. Its primary innovation is the Double Coated process. First, the American-made stainless steel is heat-treated and centerless ground for perfect straightness. It is then micro-polished to a mirror finish, which Pro-Shot considers a “built-in” protective layer. Finally, the Pro-Tuff Proprietary Coating is applied, which is heat and chemical resistant and won’t vary in thickness or “peel” like cheaper sprayed-on coatings.

The rod’s swivel handle is mounted on high-quality ball bearings, allowing the rod to rotate effortlessly as it moves through the barrel. This prevents the cleaning attachment from “skipping” over the rifling, ensuring the grooves are cleaned as effectively as the lands. With a 42-inch working length (not including the handle), it is ideal for precision rifles with long barrels and muzzle devices. It features standard #8-32 female threads, allowing you to attach jags and brushes directly without a wobble-prone adapter.
