The Steyr GAMS represents a new breed of hunting rifles from Steyr Arms, blending lightweight materials with proven action design. Built around a carbon thumbhole stock, the rifle weighs as little as ~2.4 kg for easier carrying during long hunts and difficult terrain. The 485 mm (19″) barrel offers balanced ballistics for the .308 Win cartridge, while the detachable synthetic magazine and hand-cocking bolt system provide reliable performance in the field. The rifle’s PVD-finished bolt ensures smooth operation and corrosion resistance, and its threaded muzzle (designed for 1/2-28 UNEF) allows installation of brakes or suppressors in regions where they are legal. With adjustable safety, optional forward set trigger, and optimized ergonomics, the GAMS is intended for hunters who demand durability and accuracy in varying environmental conditions.
