Description

The Steyr AUG Z A3 SE is part of the AUG A3 SA civilian rifle series produced by Steyr Arms. The rifle uses the well-known bullpup configuration, where the action and magazine are located behind the trigger group. This layout allows a full-length barrel in a compact overall rifle length, improving maneuverability while maintaining ballistic performance.

Chambered in .223 Remington / 5.56×45 mm, the rifle features a 417 mm (16.4″) cold hammer-forged barrel with chrome-lined bore and chamber for durability and accuracy. The AUG system uses a gas-operated mechanism with a rotating bolt, designed for reliability in demanding conditions.

The SE (Special Edition) variant distinguishes itself from the standard AUG A3 SA by replacing the flat-top rail with a classic AUG carrying handle that integrates an optical sight. This restores the iconic AUG appearance while still offering Picatinny rails at the 3, 6, and 12 o’clock positions for mounting accessories such as lights, lasers, or additional optics.

The rifle uses detachable translucent polymer magazines with capacities typically available in 9, 30, or 42 rounds. With a 417 mm barrel, the AUG A3 SA SE has an overall length of about 702 mm and weighs approximately 3.4 kg, offering a compact yet capable sporting rifle platform.
