The Bell & Carlson 2948 series is part of the company’s Medalist™ Varmint/Tactical stock lineup, designed to enhance the performance of precision and hunting rifles built on the Mauser 98 action. These stocks are constructed using a proprietary blend of fiberglass, aramid, graphite, and structural urethane, creating a rigid and weather-resistant structure suited for field use and precision shooting.

A precision-machined aluminum bedding block is molded into the stock to provide consistent metal-to-metal contact between the rifle action and stock. This bedding system helps maintain alignment, reduce flex, and improve accuracy without requiring additional bedding work.

The varmint/tactical design features a wide beavertail fore-end, providing improved stability when shooting from a bipod, rest, or bench. The barrel channel is designed to accommodate a varmint-profile barrel while allowing free-floating clearance to avoid contact with the stock.

The 2948-10 version is finished in dark grey with a textured web pattern, one of the standard finish options used by Bell & Carlson to provide a durable non-slip surface for better grip in outdoor conditions.
