Description

The AUG A3 Z QCB SR 60 belongs to the AUG A3 Z civilian series developed by Steyr Arms. It uses the iconic bullpup layout, where the action and magazine are positioned behind the trigger group. This configuration allows the rifle to maintain a full-length barrel while keeping the overall weapon length compact, improving balance and maneuverability.

The rifle operates using a gas-operated short-stroke piston system with a rotating bolt, providing reliable operation under demanding conditions. Like other AUG models, it features a quick-change barrel system, allowing the shooter to remove and replace the barrel rapidly without tools.

The SR 60 configuration includes a receiver housing with an integrated 3× Mildot optical sight, positioned approximately 60 mm above the receiver, which improves ergonomics when using optics and allows faster target acquisition. This optic group is mounted within the AUG’s carrying-handle style housing and may include additional small accessory rails.

The rifle uses a 417 mm (16.4-inch) cold hammer-forged barrel, chambered in .223 Remington / 5.56×45 NATO, providing a good balance between ballistic performance and compact weapon size. The AUG platform also supports detachable polymer magazines typically available in 9-, 30-, or 42-round capacities.
