Description

The Steyr AUG A3 SA SE is a special-edition civilian rifle derived from the renowned AUG platform developed by Steyr Arms. The rifle uses the classic bullpup configuration, placing the action and magazine behind the trigger, allowing a full-length barrel while keeping the overall rifle length compact. This design provides excellent maneuverability and balance without compromising ballistic performance.

Chambered in .223 Remington / 5.56×45 mm, the rifle features a 417 mm cold hammer-forged barrel with chrome-lined bore and chamber for durability and accuracy. The AUG operates using a gas-operated system with a rotary bolt, ensuring reliable performance under various operating conditions.

The SE (Special Edition) differs from the standard AUG A3 SA by replacing the flat top Picatinny rail with a carrying handle that incorporates an integrated optical sight. This configuration gives the rifle its classic AUG silhouette while still allowing accessory mounting through additional Picatinny rails positioned at the 3, 6, and 12 o’clock positions on the optic housing.

The rifle is equipped with a durable synthetic bullpup stock and uses detachable transparent polymer magazines with typical capacities of 9, 30, or 42 rounds. With a 417 mm barrel, the rifle has an overall length of approximately 702–725 mm and weighs around 3.4 kg, providing a compact yet highly capable platform for sporting or professional use.
