Description

The Steyr SM12 is designed for hunters who value safety, elegance, and rapid target acquisition. Unlike standard models, this Special Production “M” variant utilizes a shortened 508 mm (20″) barrel with an Optimized Barrel Profile (O.B.P.), ensuring maximum stiffness and accuracy in a compact package. The inclusion of factory open sights makes it ideal for driven hunts or as a reliable backup when hunting in extreme conditions where optics may fail.

At its core is the Hand Cocking System (H.C.S.™), which allows the shooter to manually tension the firing pin spring with a thumb slider just before the shot, providing the highest level of safety. The rifle features a Forward Set Trigger (Kombination trigger) for precision shots and is bedded in a premium European Walnut stock with a Bavarian cheek piece and double-flame checkering. Every metal surface is protected by the patented Mannox® finish, ensuring the rifle remains impervious to the elements during long stalks in harsh environments.
