The Steyr CL II represents the modern evolution of the traditional Austrian hunting rifle. Engineered for both the dedicated alpine stalker and the predator hunter, this model utilizes a shortened 20-inch barrel and Steyr’s optimized Mini Action to provide exceptional balance and maneuverability. At its heart is the patented Safe Bolt System (SBS), featuring a 3-position roller safety that allows for a “Locked-Safe” mode, where the bolt handle is tucked flush against the stock for a snag-free profile during transport.

The barrel is produced using Steyr’s signature cold-hammer-forging process—distinguished by its visible spiral marks—and is treated with a plasma-nitrided Mannox® finish for industry-leading resistance to corrosion and wear. Housed in a premium European walnut stock with a Bavarian cheek piece and laser-cut fish-scale checkering, the CL II combines 19th-century aesthetics with 21st-century mechanical precision.
