The Benchmade 601 Tengu Flipper represents Benchmade’s collaboration with renowned knifemaker Jared Oeser, combining a traditional Japanese-inspired design language with modern materials and EDC practicality. The knife features a compact tanto blade profile optimized for precise slicing and utility tasks while maintaining a sleek gentleman’s carry appearance.

The blade is crafted from CPM-20CV premium stainless steel, offering strong edge retention, corrosion resistance, and wear performance. Unlike many Benchmade folding knives that use the AXIS® lock, the Tengu employs a liner lock (LLK) paired with a flipper deployment system running on thrust bearing washers, enabling smooth one-hand opening. The knife also includes a black leather sleeve with white accent stitching instead of a traditional pocket clip, emphasizing its refined carry style. The contoured black G10 handle with white G10 base layer and decorative shield inlay adds to its premium appearance.
