By squareing the pocket to the case head and establishing a uniform depth, this tool allows primers to be seated consistently, which reduces extreme spreads in muzzle velocity and improves overall accuracy.

The tool features a unique multi-flute carbide cutter that maintains its sharpness far longer than standard steel alternatives. Its depth of cut is controlled by a pre-set shoulder ground into the cutter that cannot slip or change, guaranteeing that every case is processed to the exact same dimensions. While optimized for hand use with the included ergonomic handle, the integral threaded shank also allows it to be used with the included power adapter or mounted on a power case prep center.
